Francisco Venegas-Martínez
Currently, he is a professor and researcher at the Superior School of Economics of the National Polytechnic Institute. He won the first place of the National Prize in Economic Research “Maestro Jesús Silva Herzog 2002, awarded by the Institute of Research in Economics of the UNAM. He also won the first place of the National Prize in Derivatives “MexDer 2004” in the research field and a special mention in the Rómulo Garza Award for his research in 2005 at the Monterrey Technical Institute. His contributions to the theory and practice of Economics and Finance in Mexico are multiple and include diverse models, techniques, tools and methods that have been applied by the Mexican Stoch Exchange, the Mexican Derivatives Exchange, commercial banks (Bancomer and HSBC), credit rating agencies (HR Ratings of Mexico) and the Mexican Bank, among others. He has published more than 130 articles in national and international refereed research journals. He is the author of the research Best- Seller “Financial and Economic Risks” (more than 10,000 copies sold) and of more than a dozen research books. He has contributed with lectures in more than 100 national and international conferences. He is a member of the Methodology Evaluation Committee of the Mexican Stock Exchange, the Administration Board of the MexDer, the Valmer Valuation Committee and the Risks Board of the AMIB.
