Mónica Villagómez
Mónica Villagómez is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Quito’s Stock Exchange and Vice-president of the Ecuadorian Institute of Corporate Governance IEGC. She is also the president of the Sub technical Committee of the Iberoamerican Federation of Exchanges and president of the Council of Chambers and Associations of Production. She is also a board member of both financial institutions and non-profit organizations. She was CEO and Legal Vice-president of Self-regulation and Quito’s Stock Exchange. In addition, she was in charge of the program for supply and demand of Corporate Governance between the IADB and Quito’s Stock Exchange. She was president of the Academic Network for Corporate Governance, chief of the Informercados Magazine and member of the National Council of Securities. She was also president of the Work Sub-committee of the Iberoamerican Federation of Exchanges. She has been lecturer in both graduate and post-graduate courses in Ecuadorian universities in connection with Capital Markets, Corporate Governance and Family Companies. She has been invited as speaker by local and foreign organizations in connection with entrepreneurship, financial and capital markets education, Corporate Governance, Governance of Family Companies. She holds a law degree and has participated in courses related to high direction of companies and in the Harvard Business Review program in Quito.
